Fully-Funded CoTRA Staff Mobility Scholarships 2022

Applications are welcome from any eligible staff members for the fully-funded CoTRA Staff Mobility Scholarships 2022 (academic and administrative) at any of the partnership’s higher education institutions, notably Makerere University (Uganda), Rhodes University (South Africa), Mzuzu University (Malawi), Official University of Bukavu (Congo), and University of Eldoret (Kenya).

The European Union, through its Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme, has provided financial support to African universities in order to assist in the training of graduate students.

Through the fully-funded CoTRA Staff Mobility Scholarships 2022, five African partner institutions and one EU technical partner will work together to train professionals on how to achieve sustainable fisheries and aquaculture resource management. This is expected to result in increased fish production as well as enhanced food and nutritional security, and, as a result, improved livelihoods and household revenue.

  • Research costs
  • Travel and visa costs
  • Living costs and insurance
  • Family responsibility allowance for female scholarship holders.

Duration of Program: 2 years and 3 years for Masters and Ph.D. scholarships respectively

Eligibility criteria for the fully-funded CoTRA staff mobility scholarships

To be eligible for the fully-funded CoTRA staff mobility scholarships, applicants must:

  • Be a national of an African Union member state and resident in Africa at the time of application.
  • Be a staff member of one of the partner institutions.
  • Be prepared to move from their home country to another country where COTRA has a partner institution.

Females and candidates with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply.

Please note that scholarships are attached to mobility and, therefore, you cannot apply to an institution in the country where you are a citizen or where you reside.

For that reason, you have to download and read the call and fill and submit the application form with a work plan of your activities for the intended mobility.
